Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Review and analyze project blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine material and labour requirements.

• Create precise layouts in compliance with building codes and industry standards, utilizing measuring tools and equipment.

• Measure, cut, and shape materials, including wood, wood substitutes, and other construction materials.

• Construct and install concrete formwork systems, ensuring proper reinforcement, alignment, and structural integrity.

• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems, incorporating concrete and other materials as required.

• Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moulding, and hardware.

• Maintain, repair, and renovate existing structures, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties, with a focus on concrete formwork and related components.

• Coordinate and collaborate with other construction professionals, such as other tradespersons and site supervisors, to ensure project success.

• Monitor and maintain inventory of construction materials and tools, ensuring the proper equipment is available for each project.

• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.

• Train, supervise, and mentor apprentices and other construction workers.

Wage/Salary: $35.00/hour

Benefits: Extended Health Benefits after 3 months

Hours Per Week: 40 hours per week

Terms of Employment: Full-Time, Permanent

Location of Work: Reporting to 656 Leg in Boot Square, Vancouver, BC, V5Z 4B3, to be dispatched to job sites across the Lower Mainland of Vancouver.

Skills Requirements

Education: No Minimum Education Requirement   

Work Experience: Must have at least 3 years of work experience as a carpenter in a non-labourer role

Skills/Licensing: Must be able to independently read and interpret blueprints; Must be able to proficiently use hand and power tools, including saws, drills, hammers and measuring devices; Must be able to independently do layout and construct according to BC Building Code
