Job Description

Our expertise in bodywork and comprehensive service approach makes us a trusted choice for your auto repair needs. We are currently looking to add two more autobody mechanics at 2926 St Johns St, Port Moody, BC V3H 1Z7.

Job Duties

  1. Repair and Replace Damaged Parts
  • Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
  • Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
  • File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
  • Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
    • Fix dents, scratches, and other structural damage on vehicles.
    • Replace damaged panels, doors, fenders, and bumpers.
    • Repair or replace damaged glass, mirrors, and trim components.
  1. Welding and Fabrication
    • Weld and fabricate metal or aluminum components.
    • Cut, shape, and install replacement parts using hand and power tools.
  2. Painting and Finishing
    • Prepare vehicles surfaces for painting (sanding, priming, masking).
    • Apply paint, clear coats, and protective finishes.
    • Perform color matching and blending techniques.
  1. Frame and Structural Repairs
    • Straighten and align vehicles frames and chassis.
    • Use hydraulic tools to reshape and reinforce vehicles body components.
  2. Mechanical and Electrical Repairs
    • Install or repair lighting, wiring, and electrical components.
    • Ensure proper function of doors, locks, and hydraulic systems.
  3. Customization and Modifications
    • Install custom vehicle bodies, toolboxes, racks, and accessories.
    • Modify vehicles for specific industry needs (e.g., cars and SUV trucks).
  4. Inspection and Quality Control
    • Perform detailed inspections of vehicles to identify issues.
    • Ensure all repairs meet industry and safety standards.
  5. Customer Service and Documentation
    • Communicate with customers or supervisors about repair needs.
    • Maintain records of repairs, parts used, and work completed.

Employment requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is must.
  • 3 years of work experience in the auto body and collision technician trade and completion of a professional or college automotive body repair program or 4 year auto body and collision damage technician apprenticeship program is required.
  • Trade certification for auto body and collision technician will be an asset to have, but not mandatory.
  • Good communication skills in English are required.
  • Class 5 driver’s license will be an asset to have, but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in bodywork repair tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of automotive painting techniques.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Benefits

As per BC Employment Standards act, 10 days paid vacation annually or 4% vacation pay of the gross salary will be paid each period. 5 days of paid sick leave per year. Overtime rate is applicable after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
