Truck-trailer repairer

Location: 1116 Cardiff Blvd, Mississauga ON, L5S 1P3

Salary: $35 per hour for 35 hours per week

Number of vacancies: 1

Overtime: 1.5 times of gross pay after completion of 44 hours

Vacation Pay: 4% on every pay period

Job Type: Permanent employment 

Job Responsibilities:

• Inspecting and diagnosing mechanical and structural issues in trucks and trailers, including engines, brakes, electrical systems, and chassis.
• Repairing and replacing damaged or worn-out parts such as wheels, axles, tires, and suspension systems.
• Performing routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake checks, tire rotations, and other preventive services to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
• Testing vehicles after repairs or maintenance to ensure they are functioning properly and meet safety specifications.
•  Maintaining detailed records of repairs, parts used, and services performed for future reference and compliance.
• Using diagnostic tools and technology to identify problems in complex systems, like electrical or hydraulic systems.
•  Responding to emergency breakdowns and providing roadside assistance when needed. 

Eligibility Requirements:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required
• On the job training will be provided
• Ability to frequently reach, stretch, crouch, and kneel within specified height ranges, and lift or maneuver in/out of truck.
• Constant use of hand tools and ability to move, stoop, and kneel with flexibility and mobility.
• Ability to push, pull, and move varying weights.
• Excellent english communication skills for coordinating with team members at the shop
