Job Description

Hi Tech Diesel Garage Ltd. is a fast-growing company based in Surrey, BC. We have employment opportunity for one Auto Body Mechanic to offer a rewarding career.

Job Duties

  1. Repair and Replace Damaged Parts
  • Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
  • Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
  • File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
  • Mask and tape auto body surfaces in preparation for painting
    • Fix dents, scratches, and other structural damage on truck bodies.
    • Replace damaged panels, doors, fenders, and bumpers.
    • Repair or replace damaged glass, mirrors, and trim components.
  1. Welding and Fabrication
    • Weld and fabricate metal or aluminum components.
    • Cut, shape, and install replacement parts using hand and power tools.
  2. Painting and Finishing
    • Prepare truck surfaces for painting (sanding, priming, masking).
    • Apply paint, clear coats, and protective finishes.
    • Perform color matching and blending techniques.
  1. Frame and Structural Repairs
    • Straighten and align truck frames and chassis.
    • Use hydraulic tools to reshape and reinforce truck body components.
  2. Mechanical and Electrical Repairs
    • Install or repair lighting, wiring, and electrical components.
    • Ensure proper function of doors, locks, and hydraulic systems.
  3. Customization and Modifications
    • Install custom truck bodies, toolboxes, racks, and accessories.
    • Modify vehicles for specific industry needs (e.g., dump trucks, service trucks).
  4. Inspection and Quality Control
    • Perform detailed inspections of trucks to identify issues.
    • Ensure all repairs meet industry and safety standards.
  5. Customer Service and Documentation
    • Communicate with customers or supervisors about repair needs.
    • Maintain records of repairs, parts used, and work completed.

Employment requirements

  • Completion of secondary school is must.
  • 3 years of work experience in the auto body and collision technician trade and completion of a professional or college automotive body repair program or 4 year auto body and collision damage technician apprenticeship program.
  • Trade certification for auto body and collision technician will be an asset to have, but not mandatory.
  • Good communication skills in English are required.
  • Class 1 or A driver’s license will be an asset to have, but not mandatory.
  • Proficiency in bodywork repair tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of automotive painting techniques.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Benefits

As per BC Employment Standards act, 10 days paid vacation annually or 4% vacation pay of the gross salary will be paid each period. 5 days of paid sick leave per year. Overtime rate is applicable after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.
