Responsibilities:

1, Purchase merchandise for resale by retail or wholesale establishments;

2, Review requirements of an establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase;

3, Study market reports, trade periodicals and sales promotion materials;

4, Select the merchandise which best fits the establishment’s requirements;

5, Interview suppliers and negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements.
