MarketVan, a leading e-commerce platform specializing in Korean food imports, fresh produce, and authentic flavors, is seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team and help manage financial, statistical, and performance reports. Position: Bookkeeper

Terms of Employment: Full-time, Permanent

Wage: $34.62 - $35.62 per hour (Depending on working experience)

Position Available: 1

Working Hours: 30 hours per week

Starting Date of Employment: As Soon As Possible

Benefits: 4 % vacation pay or 10 business days of paid vacation

Work Location: 101-1206 Ridgeway Ave, Coquitlam, BC, V3J 1S9

Job Duties:

• Maintain and balance financial records and accounts using both manual and bookkeeping software, ensuring accuracy in expense and sales tracking
• Record journal entries, reconcile accounts, prepare trial balances, update general ledgers, and generate financial statements.
• Calculate and prepare payments for payroll, vendor payments, refunds, taxes, and other operating expenses
• Complete and submit tax remittances, GST/PST filings, workers' compensation, pension contributions, and other government forms.
• Prepare tax returns and provide personal bookkeeping services as needed.
• Generate financial, statistical, and performance reports tailored to MarketVan, such as sales by vendor, return rates, and profit margins.

Qualifications:

• Completion of secondary school is required;
• Completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping OR a related field OR completion of two years (first level) of a recognized professional accounting program (e.g., Chartered Accounting, Certified General Accounting) OR courses in accounting or bookkeeping combined with several years of experience as a financial or accounting clerk are required.
• Working knowledge of English;
• Strong team-oriented and problem–solving skills;
• Great communication and prioritisation skills.
