Currently, we are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our growing company. This will be a full-time and permanent position based in Abbotsford, BC. The candidate must be a team player who is friendly, patient, and enthusiastic with clients and their pets and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment. It is essential that they possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, have great attention to detail, and can multitask.

 

Position Details:

Position: Veterinary Technician

Number of Positions: 1

Terms of Employment: Full-Time, Permanent

Employment conditions: Day, Early morning, Morning, Evening, Night, Weekend shift, On-call

Wages: $ 28.85 to 32.00 hourly (to be negotiated) / 30-40 hours per Week

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Responsibilities:

• Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery

• Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery

• Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian

• Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian

• Counsel clients on animal health care

• Conduct and assist in laboratory research

• Produce diagnostic radiographs, collect samples and perform other laboratory tests

• Veterinary office management

• Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals

• Provide wound and bandage care

 

Job Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited college degree/diploma in animal health/veterinary program

• Experience as a Veterinary Technician will be an asset but not mandatory

• Must have excellent English (verbal, written) communication skills.
