Nature of position:      Permanent, full-time (40-45 hours per week)

 

Wage:                          $26-$32 per hour depending on experience, with an overtime rate of 1.5 times regular rate above 40 hours per week

 

Vacation:                     4% in lieu of paid vacation days

 

Language required:     English, spoken and written

 

Other benefits:            Extended medical benefits including dental upon completion of 3 months probationary period

JOB DUTIES. The following duties will be performed in this position:

 

  • Implement and allocate tasks to landscaping workers
  • Manage and coordinate the landscape projects with other work unites according to priorities and plans
  • Plan and construct landscaped environments on commercial and residential construction sites throughout the Lower Mainland. Estimate materials and labour requirements for individual contracts.
  • Create and maintain work schedules and procedures
  • Resolve work-related conflicts and problems when they arise
  • Order supplies and materials as needed
  • Supervise and train workers in job duties and company policies.
  • Oversee and assess landscape sites.
  • Work in outdoor, all-weather conditions.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, such as shoveling dirt/gravel, installing tiles/frames, moving pavers, wheelbarrowing back and forth, digging trenches, etc.
  • Follow safety regulations on-site and attend training programs as needed
  • Regular interactions with coworkers and office staff, as well as other trades and safety personnel, will be required.

 

REQUIREMENTS. The successful applicant will possess, at a minimum, the following skills and experience:

 

  • At least one year of proven experience as a landscaper is required.
  • Experience in the type of work supervised is required.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver’s License is preferred.
  • Applicant must be well-organized and professional, with attention to detail.
  • Applicant’s demeanour and attitude must be appropriate for a client-facing position.
