Sushi Bar Supervisor

J.San Sushi Bar located in Downtown Toronto is looking for a Sushi Bar Supervisor.

The position is permanent, full-time based. The employee is required to be flexible to cover shifts, some weekends. Overtime may be required. Hours will vary from day, night and evening.

Responsibilities:

-           Oversee sushi bar and serving staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

-           Prepare and manage staff schedules, and delegate tasks to ensure efficiency and quality service.

-           Ensure that food quality, presentation, and cleanliness standards are maintained according to the restaurant’s policies and health regulations.

-           Coordinate with the sushi bar team to ensure timely and accurate food preparation, particularly regarding sushi orders, which may require special attention.

-           Monitor inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies, placing orders when necessary, and ensuring that stock is properly stored and rotated.

-           Estimate and monitor food wastage and labor costs to keep them within budget.

-           Train staff on best practices, including customer service, food handling, preparation, and the restaurant’s policies and procedures.

-          Oversee food safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

Requirements:

Education

•    Completion of a college diploma, preferably with a hospitality education background.

Work Experience

•    2 years to less than 3 years of food service related work experience

Language

•    Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English.

Job Type: full-time (40-44 hours/week), permanent

Salary: $21 hourly
