About the position

  1. Salary: $33.00 per hour
  2. Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
  3. Terms: Permanent; Full-time
  4. Location: 1193 North Service Road West, Unit C4-5, Oakville, ON L6M 2V8

About the duties

  1. Identify, research, and evaluate potential suppliers of materials, equipment, and services needed for disaster management and restoration operations, ensuring they meet company standards for quality and cost-effectiveness.
  2. Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best value for products and services while maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
  3. Manage the purchasing process of a wide range of materials, such as emergency supplies, construction materials, and safety equipment, required for disaster recovery projects.
  4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure the availability of critical supplies for timely response to disasters, minimizing downtime and delays in project execution.
  5. Prepare purchase orders, verify specifications, and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of goods and services, while addressing any discrepancies or delays.
  6. Assist in developing procurement budgets, analyze purchasing trends, and work closely with the finance team to control costs and ensure procurement activities align with financial goals.
  7. Ensure that all purchasing activities comply with company policies and relevant Canadian laws, including environmental and safety regulations.
  8. Regularly assess vendor performance, including the quality of goods and services provided, and initiate corrective actions if necessary.

 

About the requirements

  1. A college diploma is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Higher education will be an asset.
  2. Minimum two years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management experience.
  3. Must be a detail-oriented person and able to perform duties with great accuracy on a daily basis.
  4. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  5. Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
  6. Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills in English.
