I Deal will launch a new all-day menu to its customers to complement the great coffee and baking goods we have already at our coffee shop location in Ottawa. We are looking for a qualified cook to join our kitchen staff team.  The ability to work in a team, very good communication skills, and excellent physical condition are required for this role.Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is also very important.

Wanted Cook

Restaurant located in Ottawa is looking for one full-time Cook. Must be able to work weekends, night shift and holidays, and extra hours when needed.

Duties  

• Determine the size of food portions and costs
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Order supplies and equipment
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Execute food menu, determines size of food portions, costing recipes and providing recommendations for kitchen products/menu offers.
• Execute food menu, following the defined food portions, supporting manager to cost for recipes and providing recommendations for kitchen products/menu offers.
• Preparing and organizing the orders for delivery (for “here”, “to go” and catering menu). 
• Control inventories/supplies required for the coffee shop operations and coordinates shipping and receiving activities (with customers and suppliers).
• Monitor the fridge and freezer temperature to ensure proper conservation of food products, as per inspection procedure (health code).
• Stock refrigerators, operate dishwashers and place dishes in storage area.
• Engage; connect with customers to create a “personalized” service.
• Other duties and obligations comparable to those that would be performed by an individual holding a similar position at business in a similar industry as Ideal Coffee.
• Plan menus, determine size of food portions and ensure food meets quality standards
• Analyze operating costs and other data
• Prepare dishes with food allergies or intolerances
• Oversee kitchen operations
• Clean and sanitize Kitchen and coffee equipment, appliances and other surfaces in the working area.

Applicants must demonstrate progressive cuisine experience.

You will be required to train apprentice cooks.
