Job Duties:
1. Record and reconcile daily sales, cash deposits, credit card transactions, and petty cash to ensure accurate cash flow management.
2. Process invoices for food, beverage, and supply orders, ensuring timely payments and accurate inventory cost tracking.
3. Calculate hours worked, tips, and deductions; preparesemi-monthly payroll for restaurant staff; maintain accurate employee records for compliance.
4. Regularly reconcile POS system reports with bank deposits and accounting records to ensure accuracy.
5. Keep all financial documents, including receipts, invoices, and statements, well-organized and easily accessible for audits and management review.
6. Analyze food and beverage costs, identify trends, and report findings to management to help control expenses and optimize profitability.
7. Work with management to develop budgets and forecasts, helping to set financial goals and monitor performance against targets.
8. Generate monthly profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports to provide insights into the restaurant's financial performance.
9. Stay updated on relevant financial regulations and ensure the restaurant complies with local, provincial, and federal laws.
10. Prepare and file sales tax returns, maintain records for audits, and ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations.
11. Provide financial data and analysis to assist in menu pricing, cost control, and other strategic decisions.
Qualifications:
1. College diploma in bookkeeping, accounting, business area or equivalent is preferred.
2. Proven 1-2 years' experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
3. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
5. Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
