Recreation Manager / Therapist - Agassiz Seniors Community
Pro Vita Care Management is looking for a Recreation Manager / Therapist with a passion for the elderly to join our team to support our residents in Long Term Care in Agassiz, 20-30 minutes outside of Chilliwack.
Location of Work: 1525 Mackay Crescent, Agassiz, BC, V0M 1A3
Term of Employment: Full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for special events

Recreation Manager Must Haves:
- Diploma or Degree in Recreation Therapy from an accredited post-secondary school.
- Maintains valid First Aide Certificate /CPR.
- Previous experience coordinating, organizing, scheduling and implementing recreation programs.
- Satisfactory proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.
- Passes and complies with Ministry of Justice Criminal record Check upon hire and every 5 years thereafter.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written.
- Organized, dependable and flexible, with a positive attitude.
- Strong skills in decision-making, problem-solving, and communicating with various stakeholders from many backgrounds.
Recreation Manager Nice to Haves:
- Experience working with seniors is preferred, 2 years related experience.
- Previous experience working with volunteers and the public in some capacity.
- Holds and Maintains a Valid Class 4 BC driver’s license.
Recreation Therapist Responsibilities:
- Holds responsibility for the Recreation Therapy department collectively.
- Creates, organizes and implements therapeutic recreation programs such as arts and crafts, exercise, music, woodworking, cooking, baking, gardening, outings and other social programs.
- Manages all records and documentation, including assisting with MDS data entry, in relation to recreation therapy programs, and residents progress within them.
- Teaches, directs and demonstrates activities to residents, staff, and volunteers.
- Works within the interdisciplinary teams to identify and respond to residents', employees', and volunteers' needs.
- Responsible for training, supervision, and evaluation of Recreation Aides.
